Bothell is located along the Sammamish River near its mouth at the northeast end of Lake Washington. Bothell is one of six cities in Washington that are in multiple counties. Bothell is the 26th largest city in Washington, and the city grew significantly in the 1950s, 1990s, and 2000s from the annexation of surrounding areas and suburban development. Bothell is home to Cascadia College and the University of Washington Bothell (UW Bothell), which share a single campus. UW Bothell was established in 1990 to serve students who had graduated from two-year community colleges.

Interesting Places To Visit:

Blyth Park is the largest park in Bothell, runs alongside the Sammamish River, and is a popular spot for walkers, joggers, bikers and dog owners as the trail is often in use year-round. Blyth Park is where the Burke-Gilman Trail becomes the Sammamish River Trail. There are two picnic shelters, available for rent for family gatherings and birthday parties, grill and barbecue pits, plenty of parking, a large playground, volleyball courts and disc golf for visitors to enjoy.

North Creek Park is an expansive wetland has a network of boardwalks and trails provides excellent opportunities for bird watching and appreciating the ecosystem. The boardwalk trail is an incredible floating trail comprised of more than 150 sections. This 3/4 mile long walking adventure provides a wonderful opportunity to experience the rich diversity of a wetland environment. It is typical to see and hear hundreds of birds and a variety of other wildlife.

The Park at Bothell Landing is another free and great way to spend an afternoon with kids. You can enjoy the educational museum with your kids and then take a stroll through the park, if you are lucky, you might even catch a performance at amphitheater.

Bothell Historical Museum is located in the Park at Bothell Landing, just south of SR 522 and downtown Bothell. The museum consists of three buildings, the Beckstrom cabin, the schoolhouse and the main museum in the Hannan House, which was brought to the park in 1978. In normal times, the buildings are open to the public on Sundays, 1 to 4 pm, April through October. There is no charge for admission.
